Product Review: Physicians Formula Neutral Palette

I  had been eyeing this palette for quite sometime in our drugstore here in Canadia, but chose not to purchase it because it is quite small and for the size, I think it's quite pricey. In Canada, it's about $18 and I was iffy on that because I had never used their eye shadows before.

I was in the states a few months ago and saw this at Target for only $8.00! I knew I had to get it, so I picked it up with a few other things.

I have been using this palette for months and I LOVE it so much. This is definitely my favourite neutral palette at this moment in time. These shadows go on smooth, and they have amazing color payoff! They're shimmery and great for day or night wear. You can lighten it up or darken however you prefer. The great thing about Physicians Formula palettes is that they are wet/dry application - wet for a more intense, dramatic effect and dry for a more softer look. This allows me to use the black colour on the far left as a liner, by simply dampening a liner brush and applying it to my waterline. I have oily skin and find it very difficult for eyeliners to stay put and this does the job well.

The one thing that I dislike about these palettes is the size of shadows (little more than half a cm). Some are bigger than others, and for the tiny ones it's a little difficult to use without mixing it with the colour on the other side.

They have recently come out with 4 more new palettes that I have so far only found available in Canada at Shoppers Drug Mart. I made a trip to the states and was unable to find these at either Target or Walgreens, which I was really disappointed in. I'm generally used to products coming out in the states first.

Definitely found a winner, though I have to take off points for the varied size of shadows!

Rating: 4/5

Physicians Formula Neutral Palettes in CANADA!

I was in the states a few months ago and I picked up a PF Neutral Palette for about $7.00 (compared to $18.00 in Canada) and I absolutely fell in love with it. I have a review for it coming up so keep an eye out!

I was just walking through the drugstore yesterday afternoon and I wish you all could have seen the almost comical way in which my eyes LIT UP when I saw 4 NEW neutral palettes from Physicians Formula. ERMAHGERD! I promise I will never say that again. I am SO incredibly stoked to try these!

Physicians Formula Classic Neutral Palette

Physicians Formula Natural Neutral Palette

Physicians Formula Warm Neutral Palette

Physicians Formula Smoky Neutral Palette

There is probably a little bit of overlap with these 5 palettes, but all the same I absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on these. I love and use the regular neutral palette almost every day and they just look amazing on and they blend really well.

I took a trip to the states this passed weekend only to find out that the area that I went had none of these palettes. I was quite disappointed that I wasn't able to get my hands on them yet!

More shockingly, I went to a Walgreens and they had no PF available AT ALL!?! I was hoping to pick up a tube of PF Conceal Rx since we don't have it available anywhere in my city and wasn't able to find it in any of the stores that I looked in. All over disappointing trip for Physician's Formula.

I am still SO SO SO crazy excited to get my hands on these!

Product Review: Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze

I have been lusting over these Color Tattoo's for literally ages and I built them up so much in my mind before they came out. I was hesitant in purchasing Bad to the Bronze because to me, the colour isn't appealing. It just looks like a muddy brown, but don't let that fool you. This is the most gorgeous colour I have ever seen on. It's shimmery, bright and just overall gorgeous looking.

After using this product, there is only one thing that threw me off a little bit and it was the staying power.  I had to work with this product to try and find a method in keeping it from creasing and fading. I have pretty oily eyelids and not using primer is not an option for me if I want my eyeshadow to remain in place. I use Urban Decay Primer Potion and it works absolute wonders with most eye makeup and sometimes I have to layer it up to get the desired staying power of certain products.

The first time I had used this product, I used it alone without any shadow accompanying it. I had only used one layer of Urban Decay PP as I do most often, and I got maybe 4-5 hours of wear before it started to crease and fade. EEK! I was not ready to write this product off that quickly - I am much too in love with the colour. So the next time I used it, I used a little more primer and at the suggestion of a friend of mine..used a little translucent powder to set it. This worked wonderfully!

If I choose to wear it as a base and a light shadow over top, I got at least 9-10 hours of wear and when I got home from school, there was no creasing and no fading!

In Canada, this product runs about $10.00 and is 4 grams. You only need very very little product to get the desired effect because this product has such great color payoff, so this little jar will last a long time. It's quick, easy and always looks gorgeous. It's perfect for me when I'm constantly running out the door to be on time for my 8 am classes!

Also, I really REALLY dislike that Canada is so limited in the colours that Maybelline offers. I know that in the states they have Pink Gold available and we don't have it here, which I really want to try but I have to wait until I can make a trip to the US to pick it up. That's a downside, not to the product...but just to living in Canada. :)

Product Review: MAC Paint Pot in Rubenesque

I am going to start off by saying that my eyelids, much like my skin, are crazy oily and it's INSANELY difficult to keep eye makeup on without it creasing or fading throughout the day. It's pretty well trial and error for me, because even if I use primer...sometimes the product just doesn't have that staying power that I, so desperately, need in my makeup.

This, however, is not the case with MAC Paint Pots. They are a little pricey at $22 CND but despite the price, I cannot help but love them. They go on flawlessly, they look absolutely gorgeous and the staying power on them is like nothing I have ever seen. I put it on in the morning before class and I can go the entire day and these don't crease or fade throughout the day. Hallelujah.

On days where I'm running late or have an early class, I just use a primer and the paint pot just on it's own and it still looks fabulous. It's easy, goes on smooth and looks great.

Rubenesque is by far my absolute favourite colour! It's a beautiful golden peachy colour and I fell in love with  how gorgeous it looks!

Definitely recommend this product. It's amazing quality, and it's a higher price tag but it's worth it in the end. They last for a long time and you only need a little bit of product because they have an excellent colour payoff. I am so impressed with MAC's Paint Pots!

Let me know in the comments what you think about this product if you've tried it!

Product Rave: Urban Decay Primer Potion

I have tried tons (and I mean tons) of eye primers. Much like the rest of my skin, my eyelids are quite oily - where did I get such awful skin from! I have been on a search for a really good eye primer that will keep my eye makeup from creasing and completely disappearing after a few hours.

So this is most definitely not a new discovery to anyone in this crazy beauty world. This product has been a beauty favourite since it came out. I was pretty skeptical about using it but I was in Toronto for a weekend a while back and was desperate to keep my makeup on for a few hours - after mulling over whether or not to purchase this (it is not sold in my city, fyi) so I was more than ecstatic to find my friend using it! So I tried it.

Mission COMPLETE.

This is absolutely, truly and completely the best eye primer that I have used thus far. It kept my eye make up from creasing and melting off my eye lids in the humid heat - which is quite an amazing feat if you ask me!

I purchased both the original PP and Sin. I have used both and absolutely love Sin because it gives you just a touch of shimmer underneath your eye shadow! BEAUTIFUL!

It will probably be a long while before I even look at purchasing/trying another eye primer.

For anyone with oily eyelids like myself..or someone who wants to keep their eye make up on for an insanely long time..highly recommend this product!
